Privacy policy
Last updated 26 September 2026
This is a small site, so this is a short policy. We don’t run analytics, we don’t advertise, and we don’t track you between visits. The only personal information we hold is what you choose to type into one of our forms.
If you’d rather skip to the part that matters: you can ask us to remove your details at any time, and we will.
Who we are
Playformant works with development teams on game projects. When you use this site, Playformant is the data controller for the information described below, which means we decide what is collected and we’re answerable for it.
What we collect, and why
Three forms, and nothing else. There is no account to create, no newsletter, no analytics, no advertising and no profiling of any kind.
The “get in touch” form
On the home page. It collects your name, your company if you give one, your email address, and your message. We use it to read what you sent and reply to you. That’s all.
The studio submission form
On the studios page. It collects your studio name, a contact name, an email address, your location, your team size, a portfolio link, what you’ve shipped, the engines, disciplines and platforms you work with, your availability, your rate if you give one, whether you’ve worked for hire before, and any notes you add.
We keep that so we can consider your team when a project comes up, which may be months after you send it. That is the whole purpose. It isn’t shared outside Playformant and it isn’t used for anything else.
The removal form
On the removal page. It collects the email address you originally submitted with, plus an optional note. We use it to find your records, delete them, and confirm that we have.
Technical information
Like any website, the site processes your IP address and basic details of each request in order to deliver pages and keep the site secure. We also use your IP address briefly to protect the forms from spam and abuse. We don’t store it with anything you send us.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and only if you choose a language. It remembers that choice and nothing else. A security cookie may also be set where needed to protect the site from automated traffic.
Who else sees it
We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to host the site, store submissions, deliver email and serve the site’s fonts, and they process information only to provide those services. Some are based outside the UK and the EEA and rely on standard legal safeguards for those transfers.
Why we’re allowed to hold it
- Replying to you, and considering your team for work: our legitimate interests in running the business, acting on an approach you made to us. If you’d rather we didn’t, tell us and we’ll stop.
- Protecting the site and forms from abuse: our legitimate interests in keeping them working.
- The language cookie: necessary to provide something you explicitly asked for by clicking it.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send until you ask us to remove it, because a team we can’t place this year may be exactly right the next. When you ask, we delete it. Backup copies are cleared within a short period, and we keep a record that you made the request so we can show it was actioned.
Your rights
If you’re in the UK or the EEA, data protection law gives you the right to ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to what we’re doing with it, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also complain to a regulator: the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK, or your national supervisory authority in the EEA. We’d rather you came to us first so we can fix it.
How to exercise them
- To have your details deleted: use the removal form. A person reads every request, so it isn’t instant, but we’ll confirm by email when it’s done.
- For anything else: use the get in touch form and say what you want. We reply to the address you give us.
Before we hand over or delete anything, we may ask you to confirm the request from the email address involved.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send confidential material or unreleased work through these forms.
Children
This site is for people working in games as a business. It isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, use the removal form and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
